Having taken MRPL (mobile robot programming lab, pronounced murple) and about to take AMPL (my name for the advanced class), he was on a mailing list asking for volunteers to help build robots. He wanted to know if I thought he should do it, but it excited me so I decided I'd help out too.

I'll let you read the details about the project on a new project page, Robotics. It was a lot of fun to work on. I ended up working on it a lot more than I expected to. I didn't mean to get so involved but I ended up being the one with a lot knowledge about the Stayton boards and C serial and network programming so they needed me. Illah is really cool to work with. I thought maybe I had an interest in robotics that I didn't know about. I thought about applying to the RI, but I missed the deadline. :-( One really crazy thing happened. The robotic arm was left handed because Chris who built it is. I thought that was cool because I am too. However later when we were talking about it we found out that 5 out of 7 people on the project were!
