What is TUFS?

TUFS is a website for the collection of massive amounts of data about the fishing system in Disney's Toontown Online. Some people have created fishing guides in Toontown Central's Fishing Forum based on the limited amount of information we have about fishing. Some things we would like to know is where different fish occur, what is the rarity/probabilty of catching each fish, how different rods effect fishing, and how much different fish are worth. Because some fish are really rare and because there are several factors in fishing (loction, rod, etc) we need *a lot* of data to be able to analyze. The goal of TUFS is to make it easy for many toons to keep track of what they catch as they fish, all in one place. All the data entered here is collected into one big table. From that table we can generate all sorts of statistics. If you would like to help out, create an account on the login page.

How do I play Toontown in a window?

Many people prefer to play Toontown in a window instead of fullscreen so they can press ALT-TAB to quickly switch between Toontown and a web browser to use TUFS. Copy the following red text and paste it into the Start -> Run box.

"C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\Toontown\Configrc.exe" -windowed
Click Ok. Now the next time your run Toontown it will be in a window. If you want switch back to fullscreen repeat the process with the following text:
"C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\Toontown\Configrc.exe" -fullscreen

Do I need to create a seperate account for each toon?

No. It is not important which toon did the catching. Just make sure if you are recording data from multiple toons that you make sure to select the correct rod when you switch toons. When the statistics because available you may be able to compare yourself to the average. If people are interested in a feature where they can compare their toon to the average, I can add a features where you can set up which different toons you have on your account and you can select the toon when you record. If people don't find that important, like I don't, then don't worry about it.

Should I record my fishing from the test server?

No. For now I think we should only record fishing done on the Open server. We don't know when Disney might change some aspect of the fishing and so it is important to be able to know what version the fishing data goes with. Right now TUFS automatically records the current open version along with each catch.

Do I have to enter the weight and JB value?

No. You may choose not to enter either the weight or JB value or both. If you don't enter it it will be entered as zeros. Don't worry, this won't throw the statistics off. TUFS knows to ignore zeros as information that just isn't available. It is appreciated if you do choose to enter these things, especially for very rare fish.

What is that little exclaimation icon next to some of my catches?

TUFS attempts to automatically determine if a record may have been entered incorrectly. We all make mistakes, but enough small, innocent mistakes can really throw off the statistics. While the system isn't perfect (using the data gathered to determine if some of the data gather is bad is tough) and TUFS certainly won't catch all errors, it a record is marked with that icon, then you probably made a mistake. The small 3 line edit table at the bottom of the fishing page or the edit/review page can be used to find and fix these mistakes. The warning mode of the edit/review page will show you only the record that TUFS thinks might be in error.

*new* If you aren't sure what mistake you made click the icon and TUFS will give you some suggestions. It has only a few type of mistakes that it anticipates and suggests such as wrong bean value for correct weight, wrong weight for correct bean value, or wrong species for correct weight and bean value. If you can't figure out the problem, please delete the record. If it is wrong it is better not to have it. If you think a catch has been flagged when it shouldn't be, send me email and make sure to include your username and the date of the problem.

Be aware that the one error that TUFS is completely incapable of catching is an incorrect pond. If you switch ponds, please make sure you set the correct pond in the fishing form. We don't want to send people on wild goose chases looking for fish in places they can't really be caught because you were there before going somewhere where you did catch them.

I have a different question. I found a bug in TUFS. I have a really great idea for TUFS.

Send me an email! I love hearing from people who enjoy using TUFS. If you have a problem I would love to try and solve it. When you email me please make sure you include all the important information such as your username, the date/time/specs of the catches in question, and/or the description of your problem.
