Survivor: Toontown Central

Toontown Central is the major fansite for Toontown and I often read and contribute to the forums there. Recently some toons (as I call my fellow Toontown addicts) decided to hold a Survivor-style competition in Toontown. The idea was to organize two teams of toons, to hold immunity challenges twice a week, and to vote toons out in the same manner as the popular TV show. The original "cast" was 10 toons including myself. In addition to the two teams of 5, there are two hosts, Reff Robst and Bucky Teeth.

Each team had to come up with their own name. My team decided on Going Bananas, based on my suggestion. The other team was the Water Coggers. My team was made up of Rupert, Purrfect, The Professor, Maiden Tai Wan, and me, Julius.

The first challenge was a game of find-the-toon. Loosy Goosy was hidding somewhere in TTC on Nuttyboro and we had to find him. We devised a great plan. To split up the streets. Two people down each, one for each side. I would get the playground and then start on the 3rd street, with everyone else helping once they finished theirs. We would have won. Loosy said he saw Maiden walk into the shop where he was hidding. Unfortunately, Maiden failed to see him, and so the other team found him. Maiden got voted out for the mistake.

The next challenge was a scavenger hunt; we had to take pictures of certain objects from around toontown. I made a map of the where they objects were and decided what the most efficient 4 routes were. I gave each team member a route. We did finish first, but there was a problem. Midway Rupert had told the Professor to take an object on her route (Rupert is a girl). I assumed that it was because Rupert decided to get the object on the Professors route that Rupert knew was easy to miss. I should not have assumed as Rupert should not have altered the plan. Last minute when I realized this, I sent Purrfect there since she was closest. Unfortunately I wasn't specific enough and Purrfect didn't have the object list open and so accidentally took a picture of the building instead of the toon inside. She voluntarily left rather than having to vote someone off.

The third challege was race that we won. The fourth challege was to raise our throw and squirt experience points to greater than 50. We won again. Before the fifth challenge each team got a new team member. My good friend Iggie joined the Water Coggers and we got Pinks. The fifth challege was to take back a 2 story and 1 story building. Even though two of my teammates had to be replaced with subs, we did well. Unfortunately the water coggers were incredibly fast. We voted off the Professor.

Before the sixth challege the two teams merged and became Toons Gone Wild. I won the first personal immunity challenge by making friends with two toons with 34+ laff. We voted of Pinks who failed to show up without letting us know ahead of time.

Saturday night was the seventh challenge. I had a feeling the former water coggers planned to vote me off, because of my strong performance. Rupert and I were the only ones left from our tribe. We wanted to vote out Aqua Duck, a very strong member of the other tribe (also Rupert's husband). I convinced Iggie to vote with us, especially since she is a friend of mine and didn't want to vote me off. Rupert told me that Aqua Duck said they were going to vote for Iggie. That Aqua Duck wanted to keep her and that she had told him that she wanted to keep me. Luckily she didn't believe him and voted with me. I should say that the challege was to catch 5 new species of fish at our estate (starting with 5, bringing everyone to 10). I did not want immunity to seem too strong. Rupert won immunity. I knew we were going to tie in the vote. Despite asking several times before the challenge, Reff Robst did not tell me what would happen if we tied. I assumed the jury (voted off people) would decide or we'd do some kind of competition. Apparently the rule in Survivor (which I don't watch much) is that the one with more previous votes leaves. Personally, I think this is a pretty stupid rule. When we tied, Reff didn't realize either of us had previous votes so she decided on a fish-off (first to 11th species) as a tiebreaker. I was reluctant to agree to this since I thought Aqua Duck already had a rare species that would give him the upper hand. We started fishing in the TTC pond. After not catching anything for a while, Reff told us we could go whereever we wanted. I decided to run to Donald's Dreamland. It is the farthest away place so it was a risk running that far. However, I knew if I got there that the Moon Fish and New Moon Fish are extremely common and it paid off. I won the right to stay.

Or so I thought. The next day, Aqua Duck started whining on the forums about how he thought I previous votes. It turned out I did have two whereas he had none. We had a meeting to decide what to do. Reff felt that since it was unfair to one of us no matter what she did, that she should follow the correct rules and overturn the decision. I was out and Aqua Duck was back in. Personally I disagree with this. First of all, I don't think it is unfair to Aqua Duck, just unfortunate. If he had been concerned that the rules weren't being follow and that he shouldn't need a fish-off, then he should have suggested postponing resolving the tie untile we could be sure. I would have agreed with that. He decided to go along with the fish-off so he shouldn't be able to change his mind only after losing. In fact, I think it would have been a little unfair to me if I had lost due to that rule initially because I didn't know about it even thought I had asked. At least the fish-off was fair to both of us since we both had a chance. Finally, I don't believe in ever reversing decision in a competion. I think even bad calls should remain final to shield judges from having people harass them about bad calls and the need to second guess their decisions. After I was voted off, Iggie decided to quit since she didn't like what Aqua Duck had done, she knew she'd be voted off soon anyway, and since she was busy moving IRL.

Oh, You are so right Nick! Donald's Dock has got a much different content. Much more appealing content! Sir Spiffy and Admins. have made great strides in designing a comfortable atmosphere for adults who play Toontown. You are more than welcome to stop in..We know you do. MD

Donald's Dock has only been around for 10 months, and Toontown Central has been around for 4 years. Both sites have the same content these days. Donald's Dock is just not filled up with old toontown content and a butt load of kids. Oh wait, I probably can't say butt load here just like on Toontown Central.

Ok, well this is my website so I might as well chime in. Yes I know about Donald's Dock, but this event happened before it was really around. I went there when it was first getting started and I wasn't too impressed then, but maybe it has more stuff now. Unfortunately I just cancelled my toontown account a few days ago. I had so much fun playing back then but I haven't really had time or interest lately and I probably haven't even played at all since June so I decide it was finally time to give up. BTW, yes you're allowed to swear on my website, though I don't know why my blog has become the battleground for yet another TTC/DD showdown.

Well, Ben, this is an invite to come back and check us out! We rock! We don't intend to use your site as a battleground. Nick made it that way. He had to chime in. It's his nature! *winks* at Nick.
